Structure and profile of SA LR Services

SA LR Services, is led by Allan Bolt. Allan qualified in 1989 with a Social Sciences Degree, from the University of KZN, specialising in Industrial Psychology, Industrial Sociology and Business Administration. He also attended UNISA where he complimented his Degree with studies in Law. Allan has more than 25 years experience in Human Resources and Labour Relations, and has been attending the CCMA (Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration), representing employers, since the CCMA opened its doors in 1997. In this time, he has attended in excess of 2000 Conciliation or Arbitration cases at the CCMA. Allan is well known at the CCMA offices in Durban and Pietermaritzburg, where he has established a reputation for fairness and legal accuracy, and a keen negotiator.

Allan has Diane Bicik and Sumaya Govender as consulting support to clients and together they provide a comprehensive response to any clients HR requirements. Cynthia Budhai provides the financial and administrative support to the team to ensure that monies are received, monies are spent, and documentation is delivered.

Experience:

Allan completed his last 2 years of studies on a part time basis whilst employed as a training officer, before going to the army (SANDF) where he was seconded to the Wilderness Leadership School to participate in Management Development Programs with key corporates and to run Youth Development Programmes in the Umfolozi Nature Reserve.

5 years followed working at Local Council Level in an HR Function in an Operational Department with 200 employees.

In 1996 Allan started working for himself and has over the years achieved a significant reputation for fairness, integrity and good quality of work, at the CCMA, where he has attended thousands of cases as an Employers Organisation Official representing clients. He has been able to establish substantive relationships with Commissioners at all levels at the CCMA to the benefit of employers that he represents.

Allan has over the years dealt with all significant Trade Union movements in kwaZulu Natal, where he has again established a reputation as a significant yet fair negotiator resulting in many secured wage agreements.

In this time, Allan has secured “preferential service provider status” to a number of franchise operations in kwaZulu Natal, including Spur Corporation and Famous Brands.

Whist Allan concentrates on the conflict component of HR leaving the General Component of HR to his colleagues, he will also conduct regular training sessions with managers across industry and also enjoys the positive aspects to mentoring and coaching.

Experience:

Cynthia has worked for SA LR Services since 2007 providing immeasurable Administrative support to the business, including all month end financial processing, and customer liaison and support. Cynthia is also responsible for all CCMA correspondence and will communicate directly with clients on various issues, including labour law updates, communication sessions etc….
